Bob Woodward recently said that the long-secret Deep Throat, who played a key role with helping bring down Nixon, is very ill and may die soon.
But if it is Rehnquist, then it certainly elevates his legacy. It also destroys the notion that Republicans had nothing to do with bringing down Nixon, one of their own.
I always hope that it was Ford, because that would be a dastardly way of ascending oneself to the presidency. It would also make me remember something about him other than that he played football in college seven decades ago. He's 91 and very frail, so it could be him.

The Christian Science Monitor wonders if we should find out who Deep Throat is. Then they go ahead and mention a U. of Illinois investigation that claims the answer. Thanks, guys.

The guy who started all this gossip last week speaks about anonymous sources, which is sometimes an issue at The Greyhound.
