CNN.com story
I don't generally have much sympathy for Greek houses; they are far too often breeding grounds for alcohol poisoning and sexual assualts under some cultural/traditional guise -- with apologies to those that break the stereotype.
However, all these universities that want to take over Greek housing or shut it down, or similarly shutting down area bars, are just moving alcohol onto their campuses. Are they really going to enforce a no-alcohol policy on-campus like that which they advocate against bars and Greeks -- even at the cost of expelling a quarter, or a third of their student body? Of course not.
Instead, all the tragedies (face it, some are inevitable) that normally would have happened off-campus will start happening on-campus, and guess who will have all the liability? The colleges themselves. That's a bitter taste of revenge.
