Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

The new Garbage single, "Why Do You Love Me?" is repetitive in riffs and lyrics. But it's damn catchy, Shirley Manson is (still!) gorgeous and vocally menacing, and somebody besides No Doubt and Evanescence ought to get some airplay with a female rock singer.
I don't think I'll buy the album, but it's a pretty good song, and not privileged white kids whining about how rough they had growing up on the Shore.

Also, the Franz Ferdinand bonus CD, with old demo-type songs, has a couple dark humorous romps in "All For You, Sophia" and "Words So Leisured."
