The Yanks look old. Which isn't a surprise -- they are old. But old teams that get off to bad starts rarely recover, and teams have a funny way of aging together. The late '50s Dodgers experienced this, as did the mid-'60s Yankees and the early '70s Orioles.
Since then, teams have generally had greater turnover, so this type of collapse hasn't happened (the Braves are the ultimate example). But this could be at play here.
Give it until 40 games. If the Yankees don't have 23 or so wins by then, hit the panic button.
