Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Roger L. Simon: An Open Letter to All Bloggers

I don't know how successful this will be. It is based upon the idea of gathering tons of far-flung blogs with fairly regular readership and placing all of them under one ad model, which sounds reasonable, but still very short on the details of the process of how they hope to break and cover news.
There's already a model for this -- Blogger News Network. In the blog mentality, there's lots of opinion and lots of analysis of news-already-happened, which may be the best option -- and where blogs are already at. Stuff happens, then blogs analyze for its effects, as well as the accuracy, depth and background on what has been reported.

As a straight news service, I'm not sure that's possible right now. Or maybe I'm not enough of a dreamer.
