Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

ESPN.com
Apparently he flipped off some heckler after giving up 5 runs yesterday, and he's been crap all season. But this is just another example of how the Reds don't do much right. They asked him to move into the starting rotation for no reason in 2003, then leave him there all year as they falter and he loses 15 games. So not surprisingly, his arm is shot, and he's struggling.
But whose fault is that? Danny Graves, apparently, not the Reds. The GM said, "His performance has been unsatisfactory and unacceptable." Emphasis added. Unacceptable, as in inappopriate, or morally deficient? Man, if the Reds (15-28) are going to waive everyone whose performance is unacceptable, I don't think they'll be able to field a team tommorrow.
