Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Well, you've all been here before. Kevin Brown, as-I've-documented, sucked again. And hurt himself again. Hopefully, he'll never recover.
However, somehow the Yanks tied it off of the original Armando Benitez, the very old Jose Mesa (1997 WS squanderer). Then Giambi absolutely blasted one in the 10th to win. Only his third GW-HR ever, and first since the legendary 14th-inning blast in the rain against the Twins on May 17, 2002. I happened to be at that game, by the way. Sorry, small bragging.

Anyways, that was also the first walk-off HR in this rivalry since Bill Mazeroski's 1960 World Series-winning blast.
