Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Randy Johnson is old. Whether he can turn in around is a serious question. The biggest problem, actually, is that teams in the AL have gradually been getting better the last couple of years (except KC, of course), and especially inside the division. The Yanks have to battle for games that would have been yawners on the schedule. But they don't have the talent, energy, or maybe desire to fight every day like that. So 28-29 may not be far off from what we can expect from the Yanks. Of course, they did win 16 of 18. But is that anymore the true talent level than 11-19 was?

Also, on a personal note, ESPN.com's Daily Quickie noted that Kevin Brown "sucks." Way to jump on my bandwagon, dude. See here, here , here and here.
