Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Well, as you may (or probably don't) know, I am in Minneapolis for the summer as an intern for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. I start work tommorrow morning, although that will (hopefully) just be an orietntation, etc.

First thoughts: Cab drivers do indeed, steal you cell phones. It's wonderful have two fellow interns living right across the hall. The Nicollet Mall (8 streets of stores) is a great concept and a fun time. The pigeons are on steroids here. Block parties in St. Paul are something worth seeing, even in the rain.

Finally, it's worth it, if you have the opportunity, to get out there and see new areas of the country. So much to be learned. And even more important, so many chances to realize how similar we all are.
