Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Right here

For those who don't know Galen Rupp, he's the U.S. junior (under 20) record holder in the 3K, 5K, and 10K (obliterating the latter two marks and running the 5K record in high school), and he also ran a 4:01 mile in his senior year of high school -- probably his weakest event of the four. He recently enrolled at Oregon after taking some time to decide -- all the while still racing and training under famed marathoner Alberto Salazar.
I think I got all the facts -- Mike tells me I've been missing on a few details lately (he's correct).
Anyways, he's got this blog now, hosted by Dyestat, and it's great to see how he's training, racing, and working toward the goal of being the new great American distance hope -- especially at the longer distances. It's a cool thing, and he actually gives some details, not just: I ran 15 miles today. It was hot out.
