Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Bronx Banter
Miguel Cairo is going to be in pinstripes, apparently. Not resigning him last year was a bad move at the time (and an even worse calculation by his agent), but it gave Robinson Cano a chance to emerge. It's hard to argue that Cano's numbers could have been surpassed by Cairo, even if Cairo walked a little more often.
But it's good to have him back -- he's a perfect utility man.
