Garciaparra in Pinstripes? It's Not That Far-Fetched - New York Times
Nomar could still probably hit a decent lick, if he could stay healthy and Mia doesn't leave him. Or maybe she needs to leave him. It's like when those musicians go to rehab -- sure, now they'll live an extra 40 years, but the music's often not the same.
The Yankees would be getting a broken-down player, most likely. There's a chance he could be revitalized for a year or two offensively, but he'll likely never be the same defensively. And the Yanks already have enough players with that status.
While you're browsing the NYTimes, check out their top books of 2005.
EDIT: Some good comments, especially regarding the role that Nomar might play. I just don't have confidence in his ability to stay healthy and adapt to new positions defensively. We'll see what happens. I'd love to be proven wrong, and the dream of having all of the Big Three would be a cool one to fulfill, no matter how it worked out.
