Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Bronx Banter

As it seemed to be the other day, the Yankees have lost in the Nomar sweepstakes. I was very negative towards the idea, but it is too bad that the Yanks couldn't make this work, especially considering the heavy recruiting they put into the deal. It's always worse to lose out on a player when it's obvious you were salivating for him.
But at least Nomar didn't go back to Boston or to Cleveland. Keeping him in the NL for a team that's far from a playoff lock is the next-best outcome.
