To put something that's not super-long and talking about the war, there is good news about the status of 2005's surprise, Aaron Small. The 10-0 starter/reliever re-upped for a super-cheap $1.2 million. He's going to be 34 and will probably not duplicate last year's success (based on track record, especially), but for that little money, he can't hurt. And he clearly has a good work ethic since he spent all those years in the minors when he could have given up, so that's a good thing.
If only Michael Kay would stop making a pun on his name EVERY inning.
