Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Myspace

This Baltimore-area band actually put out an album (Pop Filter) in November, but I didn't really know about it until recently. Anyways, from what I've heard, it just as good as the excellent stuff they've put out before. Sure, they can't get their act together when they dealt with my roommate, but whatever.
Their Myspace site has three songs from the new album that you can listen to and download, as well as "Lucy" from the last album. "Fly Me To The Moon" is the standout, with great riffs, vocals, and some nice instrumental work in the middle, even if it does come very close to stealing the riff from Neil Young's "Fuckin' Up." Check out Pearl Jam's way-better cover of that Young song on their live album, Live on Two Legs.

Also, you can check out F&H on their actual website. They've got show listings and some other things. I saw them only once, but they were excellent. They also gave a shoutout to one of my other roommates and this girl who was all over him. Good stories out of that whole thing.
