In serious, touching reading, you may remember the incident last year where a father shot his wife, and his sons shot and killed him in self-defense. Well, ESPN.com, through a contributor, has the story of the family picking up the pieces. The middle son is one of the better HS wrestlers in Pennsylvania, which is like being a upper-level basketball player in New York City or Indiana. A really amazing story.
ESPN also takes on Bryant Gumbel, who thought he was witty comparing the Winter Olympics to the Republican convention (hint: lilly-white), but had terrible timing, doing so right before an African-American won gold.
Onward to sports parody.
This week, there's a lot to choose from, even without The Onion sports section out yet. Sportspickle weighs in with "Muhammad sucked at sports" and "Sasha Cohen a saucy little minx."
There's nothing about Emily Hughes, thankfully.
Keeping with the Olympics, The Brushback reports that "Renegade U.S. Ski Team Makes Losing Cool," which the U.S. hockey teams apparently took to heart for real in Turin.
They also have hilarious NBA power rankings.
