Afternoon Baseball

Althouse has nice thoughts and a link to the Washington Post obit. I left a comment, too, actually, because I just love "The Andy Griffith Show." And especially Don Knotts and his character.

I always think, though, how blessed is Ron Howard? He got to grow up around Andy Griffith and Don Knotts, got to be on "Happy Days" and was smart enough to bail out before it got terrible, has directed tons of fabulous films, and almost as an afterthought, does the narration on "Arrested Development." He's a walking history of great writing, acting and putting ideas into action.
