Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Great enough to be in a discussion with Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens and Greg Maddux -- in dominance, if not longevity or durability. At least that's what I think.

ESPN takes a look at the dominance of the shortest HOF pitching candidate since the great Whitey Ford -- whose 200-win winning percentage was broken tonight by Pedro.

In an era known for runaway offense, we're also watching some of the best pitchers to ever live. It's an interesting situation.

On the other hand, none of these guys has had to complete 15-20 games in a season (Clemens had 18 CG once, and 20 years ago).

By the way, I'm terribly absent lately. I'm kind of swamped, work when most games are on, and I'm just tired. So, I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep this going. I'm going to give it a shot, though.
