I'm watching the rout on hand as it's 12-3 in the 7th. Bubba Crosby just hit his fourth home run of his career and first of the year. He's got such a great home-run swing for a guy who can't hit to the outfield.
Hopefully, Johnny Damon isn't too hurt. The ankle looked like it got jammed up again when he retrieved a fly ball earlier in the game. His bunt in the third inning was a thing of beauty, and any 3-RBI game from Derek Jeter is a good day.
The hitting was what it needed to be today -- in bunches and taking what you can get. Liners, dropping-in balls, deep gappers, etc. Lot to be happy about if you're a Yankees fan.
The Moose will have 11 wins assuming they hold the 9-run lead. Good to see.
UPDATE: Well, Andy Phillips also decided to homer, and the game's over. A fun game for sure, except for Blogger not wanting to actually post this post when I wanted it to do so.
Also, Jeter continues his nice year, as he's at .345/.427/.468, although he can't homer and is on pace for only 9. He's making up for that with projections for 34 SB, 42 doubles, 104 RBI and 113 R. The runs total is a little low, but with Giambi an all-or-nothing and A-Rod too often a nothing, it shows how damn good Sheff (and Matsui) were the last two years as run-producers.
