Wow. A-Rod gets replaced by Nick Green, who sounds more like a lost character from the board game "Clue" than he does a Yankee (although Peter Abraham, among others, says his toe was the reason, not his Dr. Strangeglove fielding). Rivera puts two runners on, then mows down the next three in a classic John Wetteland heart attack from '96. But the result, a win, is always worth it.
On the bright side, Chien-Ming Wang continues to benefit from being forced to go the distance in the heat last month. Jason Giambi is hitting so well you'd think he just started using steroids, Damon was back out there and even Miggy contributed.
Wang has 10 wins and a 3.92. Can't ask for much more. He also has an amazing ability to win with one or two strikeouts. It's like a flashback 60 or 70 years back. WasWatching is loving it, by the way, and has a plethora of nicknames.
To follow up on yesterday, Mo really shouldn't pitch tommorrow, as he's nearing a bit of a danger zone with 43 pitches in two days (on top of a wild outing Friday). It's babying him, but the dude is on pace for almost 90 innings. And he's 36.
By the way, if you want to still your heart, check out this atrocious trade rumor.
