Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Kind of had to expect this after the impressive -- nay, historic -- sweep of the Red Sox. Still, the back of the bullpen blew it, which is better than Farnsworth/Proctor/Rivera doing so, and that was after a decent outing from the rookie.

The fact remains, however, that the Mariners had lost 11 games in a row.

Let's see this be just a one-game blip on a winning pattern.

Win or lose, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez have a strictly business relationship.

Other quick notes:
1. Good to see Tom Glavine is healthy, and not clotting in bad ways. I'd like to see him become, quite possibly, the last 300-game winner for a few decades, if ever.
