Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

The striking difference between two players is seen in those men. Matsui may be cleared for batting practice next week, and the only thing the team worries about is him pushing too hard.
Carl Pavano, on the other hand, is looking to defraud the Yankees out of tens of millions of dollars. I'm not kidding. If they ever pressed the case, the union would go ballistic. So they ought, if he doesn't come back this season, to press actual criminal charges. Or sue. Or hire someone to kick his ass and give him some real injuries. Any of those would work for me.
This article ">sums it up, and backs up what Peter Abraham has been saying.
