Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

As I watched the Yankees self-destruct today and look more like a 90-loss team than a 90-win team, wild card be damned, I figured, let's stay positive and forward-looking by figuring out what might appear on the blog this month.

Upcoming (tentative, of course):

  1. A look at the 1995 and 2007 pitching staffs, both of which feature Andy Pettitte in his first year of a Yankees contract.
  2. Assessing Jorge Posada and his historical standing among Yankees catchers and all backstops.
  3. Some midweek links, which I've been lax on.
  4. A new, intermittent feature, "Classic Review," which will look at off-the-air shows, either by episode or in general, as well as legendary sports game, etc., from years past. I'd like to have it come out on a regular schedule, but first I'd like to see if I can produce it at all.
  5. Some ballpark visits and pictures if I get my car situation sorted out (I need a new one, basically).
  6. Fulfilling any requests to the greatest extent possible.
