Afternoon Baseball

Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

I floated the idea, albeit without much thought. There's better thinkers on the matter at Replacement Level and in comments at River Ave. Blues.

Either way, I think he can be a low-risk, high-potential reward guy to help replace Alex Rodriguez, who is benefiting from a cash-heavy market the Yankees may not have foreseen in 2004.

Of course, lots of this stuff will take a back seat to the pursuits of Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte.
