I mean, it's good for him. It's good for the Dodgers -- despite this letter of condolence, let's be real: Joe Torre is an upgrade over Grady Little regardless of other considerations.
But it doesn't really matter to Yankees fans unless there's a Yankees-Dodgers World Series, which isn't realistic. While some Series matchups do happen (Red Sox-Cards in 2004 matched up two of the most consistent teams of this decade), many plausible ones don't (Yankees-Giants from 1995-2003, for instance). Not to mention the obvious odds against picking a specific matchup.
So, of course, this blog hopes Torre succeeds, even if just to a point.
